Target Audience

All personnel working in quality control and inspection of electrical installation can attend the preparatory courses. A minimum technical education through documents such as college certificates and trade credentials etc., with a minimum 3 years of work experience in industrial installation, testing and maintenance practice can attend IECEx CoPC assessment. IECEx Ex 001 certification of competence is a pre-requestee to attend IECEx Ex 004, Ex 007, 008 assessment.

Course Content

The course is based on the competence requirements described in OD 504 with particular emphasis on the IEC 60079-17 norm. It is intended as a preparatory course covering topics in IECEx certification for:

Prerequisites

Essential

  • IECEx CoPC Ex 001 unit Competence
  • Technical education (or equivalent)
  • For a minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical installation
     

Assessment

Capeserve Energy will assist in enrolling the participants in Ex 004, Ex007 & Ex008 assessments conducted by ExCB as per the participant’s interest & request. Fees to be advised.
 

Qualification & Endorsement

A Course Completion Certificate shall be issued upon successful completion of the course.

Review

Exert Certification will review your work and training record. If the review is successful, your status will change to "candidate" and you can sign up for assessments.

Assessment

Assessment can be conducted at our training centres or the theory tests of all units can be conducted remotely. If your assessment is successful, and all fees are paid, your status will be changed to "certified person"

IECEx Certificate

Candidates fulfilling all requirements will be awarded an IECEx CoPC valid for five years. Certificates can be viewed online at www.iecex.com.

Re-Certification

You will need to apply for renewal of your certificate. Depending on if there have been changes to the relevant IEC 60079-standards, and depending on your work history during the past years, the Certification Body will decide if you will be offered a partial or full reassessment.
