Course Objective
This IECEx training course provides foundational knowledge on the basic principles of electrical equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres, ensuring participants gain a thorough understanding of hazardous area safety standards. The course covers essential topics such as explosion protection techniques, hazardous area classification, and occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, equipping professionals with the critical knowledge required to work safely and comply with global hazardous area certification requirements.
This unit does not include requirements for ensuring the explosion protection aspects of plant and machinery. NOTE: This unit focuses on the hazardous area aspects of occupational health and safety (OHS) and complements, but does not replace, other competencies required for general and functional OHS compliance.

Prerequisites
Typically this unit would be used in relation to any job function that may be performed in or associated with hazardous area and does not require any prerequisites.

Qualification & Endorsement
All successful participants who pass the assessment shall be awarded with IECEx Ex Facility Orientation Certificate (EFOC) by Exert Certification Norway
